Extreme Test Passed: Raymo Torpedo Conquers a 60° Incline in Continuous Operation

How does a fully electric utility vehicle perform when the gradient, terrain, and operating time all push it to its limits at the same time? A recent real-world test of the Raymo Torpedo (2025 model year) provides a clear answer to that question.

The Task: Mowing Steep Slopes Under Challenging Conditions

In this specific customer application, the task involved mowing slopes with a gradient of up to 60°, combined with loose, sandy ground. For the drive system and mower unit, this meant continuous full-load operation for about four hours, without a break and without a single breakdown.

The soft ground required additional maneuvering in some areas to safely reach certain sections. Details like these demonstrate just how demanding the operation actually was in practice.

For this test, the utility vehicle was equipped with:

Craft mower

mounted support frame

active work lights

Four Hours at Full Load: What the Battery Level Shows

The operation began with a battery charge of approximately 93%. After four hours of uninterrupted heavy-duty work on the steep slope, the charge level was still at 13%—despite continuous maximum load on difficult terrain.

Intelligent engine management as the key technical feature

Sustained full load on steep slopes places high demands on both the mechanical and electronic systems. The Raymo Torpedo addresses this with intelligent engine management that gently adjusts the travel speed during prolonged peak loads. This protects the components while allowing the machine to continue working continuously and safely, even at the absolute limits of its capabilities.

From Testing to the Purchase Decision

For the end customer, the results were convincing enough to immediately include the Raymo Torpedo in their budget plans. This real-world proof demonstrates that even under extreme conditions, the electric drive remains reliable and powerful.

At a Glance:

Operating time: approximately 4 hours of continuous heavy-duty work

Gradient: up to 60°, plus loose, sandy terrain

Battery level: from approx. 93% at the start to 13% at the end

Features: Craft mower deck, mounting frame, active work lights

Result: The customer has firmly incorporated the Raymo Torpedo into their budget planning
